FEAR IN THE FOREST

Sh! Sh! What is that very, very faint, very small noise?

Hush! I think I hear it moving closer.

Quick! Look around everyone.

Miss Holly Hedgehog are you ready with your quills?

Little Robin Redbreast, are you ready to take flight and find out what the noise is about?

Squirrels are you ready to lock yourselves in you oak-tree homes and peep out from your highest windows?

Freddy the Frog, I know that you are ready to hop on top of anyone who might be disturbing our peaceful forest.

All the ladybirds and butterflies are nestling and waiting in amongst the petals of the pretty flowers.

Closer and closer, the noise gets. Everyone is a little afraid, although they're trying not to show it.

Closer and closer, louder and louder the sound grows. Something is just about to come around the gentle curve of our forest path.

Suddenly it appears.

Oh no! We can hardly believe our eyes.

It is Cecil Centipede and guess what he has done. As he is the very proud owner of the most pairs of feet, he felt that it was very important that he bought himself some shoes.

Oh my word! What a noise now, when he comes to visit.

We'll just have to wait for his new shoes to start pinching, or hurting his feet, before we can enjoy the beauty of peace in our wonderful forest again.

I wonder what the Forest Folk will be up to next?

THE END
