Treasured in Memory

by Freda Grieve.

Favourite toy of childhood

the wonderful Teddy Bear.

Pooh throwing sticks in the river,

Paddington taking the train

Rupert and pals on adventure

solving mystery down leafy lane.

Tiny Titanic Ted that once belonged

to the cook on that ill-fated ship.

In many a childish diary

Teddy is there on each page,

comforter, confidant, best friend.

Tucked away in memory,

hugged threadbare by Tots.

There are lots of Teddy Bears

treasured in memory.
